One-on-one Coaching and Instruction
Through our coaching and instruction, we can help you improve your pistol handling, marksmanship, and defensive shooting skills. We also offer Concealed Carry Use of Force scenario simulations using the LaserShot portable trainer.One-on-one coaching sessions are $80 per hour. For standard shooting instruction, you provide your gear (firearm, holster, etc.). For the Use of Force simulator, you provide the venue and we will bring the necessary gear.
Skill Builder Courses
These courses are meant to be maintenance training for the shooter who has a good foundation with firearm handling basics.
CHL Holders:
Learn to safely and adequately draw from concealment, engage targets, check surroundings, and re-holster.
Support Hand Shooting:
Since we may not have the use of our primary hand in a life and death situation, learn how to shoot and reload with your support hand, because when your life is on the line is not the time to figure out how to do this.
About Us
Core Defense training is available to provide the responsible firearm owners with practical firearm training and safety skills. We believe that if you own a firearm, you should be proficient and capable with that firearm.Our instructors have years of law-enforcement experience teaching firearms, defensive tactics, and use of force.

Class Descriptions
Concealed Handgun Permit
This class covers the minimum requirements to apply for a concealed carry permit in Oregon and Utah and Arizona.
For Utah and Arizona we include your fingerprints and your passport photo (Utah only).
If you are taking Oregon only, at the end of the session you will be given a certificate which you can take to your appointment with the sheriff’s office in the county in which you live.
There is a $50 non-refundable deposit for this class at the time of sign up.

Basic Pistol Course
This 4-hour course is intended for the new firearm owner. It covers the basic skills of loading and unloading your firearm, basic marksmanship, and firearm safety. Firearm storage will be covered, as well as transport.
The price for this class is $175 with a $50 non-refundable deposit at the time of sign up.
You will need:
Firearm with 150 rounds of ammunition
Eye and ear protection
Water/snacks
Closed-toe shoes
Practical Concealed Carry 101
This 4-hour course is designed for the new concealed carry permit holder or anyone who just wants to brush up on their skills.
You will learn the basics of safely drawing from a holster, basic movement, and defensive marksmanship. Tactical and emergency reloads will also be covered, as well as an introduction to drawing from concealment.
The price for this class is $210 with a $50 non-refundable deposit at the time of sign up.

Firearm with 200 rounds of ammunition
